I’ll be honest, I sometimes forget not everyone knows me yet (even though referrals are my secret sauce). So I have to remind myself to pause, toot my own horn a little, and focus on expanding the work—not just me, but the work itself.
"What exactly is my work?" you ask. Ah, the million-dollar question—and a thorn in my side for years. I’m pretty sure I’m one of the greatest enigmas of all time. Over 10,000 hours of sharpening my intuitive skills to help others find theirs, between private consultations at my wellness spa, writing a book, and hosting a weekly radio show. You’d think I’d have this title thing figured out by now, right?
Wrong. I've cycled through Intuitive Consultant, Change Agent, Intuitive Psychology (yes, I’ve got the psych degree to back it up), and a bunch of other snazzy titles. But here I am, still title-challenged. So, about a year ago, I came to a radical conclusion: I don’t want a title. I took down my slick website because, let’s face it, it was too polished, too politically correct, and way too boring.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I get the need for organized systems. We need them to keep life and business running smoothly. Sure, it’s great to have an online hub where people can check out my street cred and cross-reference my career history (past, present, future—whatever). But here’s the kicker: Who says we have to play this game the way THEY want?
In the wise words of Sofi Tukker: F#ck They.
My biggest business thrill? Helping my "people" (aka my clients) navigate their next big breakthrough. Through one-on-one consultations, I use my finely tuned intuitive methods to break them out of their mental traffic jam and give them the boost they need to stay ahead. Clients crave coaches who know when to push the boundaries and when to pull back. It’s the art of navigating the intuitive swimming pool—knowing when to dive into the deep end and when to just tread water in the shallows. It's an ART, people, an art.
So, let’s take this slow. I’ll share who I am and how my work can fuel your growth. You tell me your story, your goals, and what I need to know about you. It’s a two-way street. Let’s make some waves together. For now you can check me out over here: https://www.facebook.com/JillianMBackman https://www.linkedin.com/in/jillian-maas-backman-7136079/
I love this concept and the energy behind it. We need to try a number of things until we feel comfortable in the niche we were meant to create in.
